Whether you're here to play competitively or to meet new people - the CGSL is the place for you. As a volunteer run organization, we are committed to providing you a great experience - social events, fundraisers, fair play, instruction, opportunities for improvement, an elaborate awards banquet, opportunities to play in tournaments across North America and a safe and fun environment.
Who are we?
The CGSL has over 300 members who are gay, lesbian and straight that join together to play softball in an atmosphere free from discrimination as to skill, gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. To learn more about our history, click here.
What is our structure?
We expect to have about 20 teams. Teams will be ranked in order of strength at the start and mid-point of the summer, and given a play schedule with the 7, or so, teams closest to them in rank.
When do we play?
Weekly games are either on Friday night or Saturday, from the first week of May through August (but not long weekends), with playoffs in September.
Where do we play?
Most games are played at McCleary Park on red clay diamonds with night lights, and umpires for all games (ASA umpires). ASA and NASA rules are used.
How do you join?
Registration occurs between March 1st and April 8th. Players are either invited by a team manager, or can register in a player draft.
